About the Creative Writing Instructor





Mrs. Harsch is the creative writing teacher for this course. She has been teaching language arts at Charles S. Rushe Middle School for the past three years in 6th and 8th grades. Before Rushe, she taught language arts for 19 years at other Pasco county middle schools in grades 6-8. Mrs. Harsch is ESE and ESOL certified, as well as holding certifications in English 6-12, Media Specialist and Middle Grades English 5-8 in the state of Florida.


Mrs. Harsch is a published author of several books. She is currently working on her third book in a YA fantasy trilogy Children of the Psi. The series is about psychic teens who must learn to control their psychic powers to stop their creators from genetically altering other unsuspecting humans. Mrs. Harsch has also authored several collections of her short stories in the horror genre in an eBook format.

In addition to writing fiction, Mrs. Harsch has also written news articles, pamphlets, study guides, lesson plans and other non-fiction pieces, some of which have been published in community newspapers and online.

Mrs. Harsch attended the University of South Florida where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Arts and Sciences in Creative Writing. She is a Tampa Bay Area Writing Project Consultant and has taught at the ICE Writers Camp, a summer writing camp for children sponsored by TBAWP.
